Jesus at the woodpile

A Boy Scout motto: “Many people need help. A cheery smile and a helping hand make life easier for others. By doing a Good Turn daily and helping when you’re needed, you prove yourself a Scout and do your part to make this a better world.” The McConnell boys were pretty excited to hear that their Dad was getting ready to take them to the woodpile. It is a time for wheelbarrows, rolling logs, making neat rows of stacked wood and grandest of all…It is time to turn on the wood splitter! Their mother explained, “We are raising our boys to know Jesus and show kindness to others. They hear it in church and in Scouts but at the woodpile, well they get to experience the joy of service. We delivered last winter to one woman that my boys really became fond of and they looked forward to helping her again this year.”
